The past couple of days have been a little bit stressful due to British Airways changing which flight from Chicago to London I was going to be on, but not changing Jordan's flight. This would have meant that we would be on that eight hour flight by ourselves, and then arriving at Heathrow airport two hours apart.
Normally I think this would be an easy fix with just a simple call to the airlines to switch either my flight back to the original time I booked or to have Jordan switch to my new flight, whichever one worked out. But getting a hold of a representative at British Airways proved to be quite the task.
Now I'm not generally one to complain about stuff like this, but it just became a bit ridiculous trying to fix this issue. First we had to deal with their business hours since we are west coast and they are east. Then when we finally got on the phone during business hours, calls would be dropped for "not being able to connect." Once actually connecting and making it through all of their automated questions to get you to the right person, we would be on hold for very long periods of time, to the point where we would just give up because we couldn't sit around waiting all day. Finally, one day, after being on hold for a grand total of 40 minutes, I got through to a representative. Of course, to add insult to injury, she was rather hard to understand, but she was very helpful and sorted everything out without charging me for changing a flight (especially since they did the changing without my consent).
I'm just glad that it all worked out and I don't have to worry about it anymore. I can focus on other things, like how I've started setting things aside to pack and I got my universal travel adapter. The trip is coming up quick!
